15/05/2018 - Tuesday Daytime

Class #982
Artemis BJJ (MYGYM Bristol), Can Sönmez, Bristol, UK - 15/05/2018

My knee is still causing me issues, though it has recovered a lot better than I might have hoped when I first hurt it last Thursday. I tried cycling in it for the first time today, which again went ok. I am mainly using the other leg to cycle, so it is slower than usual, but at least I can do so without pain in my injured leg.

As with Monday, I went through technical mount again today. I've been refining what I want to teach on the Wednesday, so based on the last two days, I think basic transition to tech mount, back take and some details o t shirt kimura grip and gift wrap make the most sense. I could then show the choke and armbar on Friday, perhaps? I'll test some more stuff out on Thursday, especially as I haven't taught the more standard s mount armbar yet. Though with my knee, that might be tricky.

I was pleased I managed to get some sparring in too, of a very curtailed type. I went with one legged sparring under mount, an interesting challenge given my favourite escape is the heel drag. As that depends on two legs, I was forced to try something else. I ended up.with a sloppy 'grab their leg and turn', but meh, I don't care if it was sloppy. Any ability to spar was more than I expected, so that's still a big plus.
